WFH Moms Co-Op

A new community for work-from-home and entrepreneurial moms, coming to Bloomington-Normal in 2024.

Are you a WFH mama in central Illinois? Fill out this form to get on the co-op list for June!

Note that for the sake of planning, we open registration a month and a half out and close registration on the first of the month before (registration for June closes May 1). Exact meeting dates and times TBD, so please include your availability or non-availability in the form!

Meetings are bimonthly and membership is nonrefundable. Payment will be collected by Zelle, Venmo,
or cash payment and is due by the 30th of May. Someone from the BN WFH mom’s co-op will be in touch
with you via email and/or text to confirm your interest and let you know how much registration for June
will be (estimated between $50-$70).

Networking

There’s no shame in needing a village when it comes to doing business. In fact, we gave it a fancy name: “networking.”

And yet, the stigma remains that we should be able to carry the load of motherhood alone.

Research continues to find that one of the best antidotes for maternal mood disorders like depression and anxiety is a reliable source of social support.

For us, “networking” is so much more than building professional connections—it’s a literal lifeline. It should be shame-free, empowered, and celebrated.

THE VISION

Coworking

We’ve all joked about our kids being our coworkers, but let’s be honest: their water cooler conversation topics leave much to be desired. Sometimes we just need a grownup to talk to, to work alongside, and to motivate us to check tasks off our to-do lists.

Working from home can be lonely and missing out on work friendships is one of the biggest losses people feel vs. working in-office. Coworking can increase productivity and enjoyment while preserving the flexibility of the WFH lifestyle.

Cost-sharing

It’s hard to get work done sometimes as a work-from-home or entrepreneurial mom, but daycare and sitters cost money. By cost-sharing this expense and wrapping it into a networking opportunity, WFH mamas can save money and get professional value out of it, as well.

Childcare needs vary and sharing sitter costs while keeping kids close is just another way women can support each other.

SPONSOR US!

SPONSOR US!

If you believe this would be a positive good for our community and want to help us get it off the ground, we would be happy to collaborate with you as a sponsor. In return for financial or in-kind support from you and your organization, we can provide advertising space on this page, our Facebook group, any ensuing social media pages, and print materials we may create. Please reach out to Aelsa at aelsa@aelsawoods.com.

Note: Right now, BN WFH Mom Co-Op is a project of Aelsa on Socials and Aelsa Woods Events. While there may be a time in the future when the co-op is established enough to incorporate this as its own organization, at this point in time, any sponsor relationship will ultimately be with Aelsa on Socials and Aelsa Woods Events. Because of this, a sponsorship is an advertising expense, not a tax-deductible donation.
